The Truth About Peeps

By on February 4, 2013

For all you peep lovers, beware! One peep is equivalent to 1.5 teaspoons of sugar. There is about 6 grams of sugar in each teaspoon, so one peep is about 9 grams. For proper health, it’s advised that you not eat more than 25 grams of sugar per day. So if you eat 3 peeps, you’re already over and that’s not even including sugars you’re in-taking from other sources throughout the day! One peep? Okay. Two peeps? Maybe not a great idea.

Ingredients: sugar, corn syrup, gelatin, contains less than 0.5% of the following ingredients: yellow #6, maltodextrin, natural flavors, potassium sorbate (a preservative), yellow #5, red #40, blue#1

I don’t know about you but food coloring, corn syrup, and added sugars are perfect for my diet and my plan to stay fit!
